Introducing Finalist – Team EmoAgent from South China Normal University

EmoAgent is a Chinese-language multi-agent dialogue system that supports social and emotional learning for junior-high students aged 12–15. Built at South China Normal University, it focuses on everyday concerns—academic pressure, peer relationships, and parent–child conflict—rather than clinical treatment. The architecture separates a fast student-facing responder from a slower offline pipeline that compares candidate replies and constructs preference data, keeping conversations timely, safe, age-appropriate, and coherent. By combining empathetic dialogue with careful safety design and grounding in education and psychology, EmoAgent delivers accessible, developmentally suitable emotional support for adolescents navigating common school and family pressures.
