CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
Why Join us? “HackATHON Through CAPstone”
Global Event
Any tertiary student matriculated in any higher learning institution in the world can register for the contest. Institutions with credit-bearing CAPstone projects are welcome to join this global event.
Scope
Participants are required to build AI assistants for higher education, K-12 education, preschool & special needs education, vocational & professional education, lifelong learning, etc.
Role of Participating Universities
Each participating university can recommend a maximum of three teams to advance to the semi-finals. The university advisor is an authorised person to make the nomination.
International Collaboration
Two universities from different cities, different countries, or even different continents can form a joint team to participate in the contest. Interdisciplinary teaming is also encouraged.
Theme: “Agentic AI for Education”
Registration
The registration system is open till 31 March 2026 23:59 CET.
Max 8 qualified students from 1 or 2 universities can form a team to participate in the contest. Registered teams will receive an official certificate from the organizer after completing the hackAstone projects.

Project Submission
Each participating university can nominate up to three teams for the semi-final phase of the contest due on 15th June, 2026(23:59 CET).
Nominated teams have to submit their project info, including a project video (8 mins max) and project description in a given form before 1 July 2026 (23:59 CET).
Finalist Announcement
Finalists will be announced on 1 Aug 2026(23:59 CET).
Finalists will be invited to present and demonstrate their work at the 2026 Conference on AI for Education (Amsterdam, 29-30 Oct, 2026)
Awards and Winner Announcement
Winners will be announced at the 2026 Holland Conference on AI for Education (Amsterdam, 30 Oct 2026).
Finalists will have a chance to win
The HackaStone Gold Award,
The HackaStone Silver Award,
The HackaStone Bronze Award and
The HackaStone Best Collaboration Team Award.
